About the Author

John Francis "Jack" Welch Jr. was an American business executive, author and chemical engineer. He was chairman and CEO of General Electric between 1981 and 2001 presiding over a massive increase in the company's stock valuation.He was coauthor with his wifeSuzy Welchof a widely read weekly business column, The Welch Way, and launched the "Jack Welch Management Institute," an online MBA program.
