Getting kid-coders off the screen and on their feet having hands-on, unplugged, active FUN!
It's time to have some fun with coding and nature - in all kinds of unexpected places. From scavenger hunts to nature walks, this book gets kid-coders talking like computers and debugging like pros. Through outdoor games - plus a little exercise and teamwork - the coding learning really comes to life!
The Coding Unplugged series uses creativity and physicality to engage children with the cardinal coding concepts, without the need for any hardware or screen time. By taking coding offline, it's easy to focus on the basic concepts, which are fundamental to learning to code. Combining coding learning with creative or physical activities is also a great way to embed the information and keep children active.
Dr Kaitlyn Siu, child neurologist and author of First Steps in Coding, and creator of www.teachyourkidscode.com brings her unique take on coding practice to this fun series for readers aged 6 plus.
Titles in the series:

Coding Unplugged with NATURE

About the Author
Dr. Kaitlyn Siu is a child neurologist and part-time assistant clinical professor at McMaster University, Ontario, Canada. She is also a mother of two, and enjoys teaching her young boys all about STEM. She started the website www.teachyourkidscode.com to help share her love for teaching young children the important skill of programming.
Dave Smith is an illustrator (or "Professional Doodler" to his friends) and enjoys drawing things that make him, and other people, laugh. He also plays the drums, strums a guitar (pretty badly), and has an unhealthy enthusiasm for elderly German campervans. When colouring-in he never goes over the lines. Well, almost never... He lives and works in Devon, with his two children and a nutty Spaniel.
