Upon returning to Kirrin Cottage for their holidays, the Five discover that Joanna, the housekeeper, is suffering from scarlet fever. With quarantine restrictions in place, the Five are shipped off elsewhere to spend their holidays. They arrive at Tinker's house, their old friend.
Soon they discover that Tinker's father's important scientific papers have been stolen. Will the Five be able to discover who stole them?
