Muhammad Salim-ur-Rehman, born on April 12, 1934, in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, is a distinguished figure in Urdu literature, renowned for his multifaceted contributions as a poet, translator, critic, editor, and storyteller. His father, Maulana Aqeel-ur-Rehman Nadvi, was a teacher of Arabic and Persian and a poet, which fostered a literary environment during Salim-ur-Rehman's upbringing. He completed his F.Sc. from Aligarh University, immersing himself in the rich literary culture there. In 1952, following the partition, his family migrated to Lahore, Pakistan.
