The purpose of this book is to introduce the basic ideas of mathematical proof to students embarking on university mathematics. About the Author

Peter John Eccles (born 6 September 1945) is a British mathematician and emeritus professor of mathematics at the University of Manchester. Eccles specialises in homotopy theory and its applications to different topology.
