Napoleon Hill was born in poverty in Virginia in 1883 where he started working as a journalist for small newspapers. In 1908 he wrote a series of articles about rich and famous men which proved to be a turning point in his career. Hill was already obsessed with solving the enigma of laws of personal success when he met Andrew Carnegie, the great American businessman of his era. Not only did Carnegie offered him an insight into his methodology of success but also introduced him to Henry Ford who in turn introduced him to other great men of his time including Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Edison. Hill interviewed at length 500 successful men and women and was able to write many books on the theme of personal success including his multi volume work The Law of Success and Think and Grow Rich, one of the bestselling business self help books of all time. He also acted as an advisor to Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt. He died a famous and rich man in 1970.
