Kathleen Clare Waller is a writer and teacher from Lexington, Massachusetts who lives in Basel, Switzerland with her husband and son. Kathleen published her first novel - The White Night - in 2015 and two books for educators with Hachette in 2019. She is currently seeking representation for her second novel, writing a third, and teaching art classes.

Kathleen s experiences and research span a several contexts, allowing dexterity in her approaches to writing and teaching and learning. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Hong Kong and has done a variety of work for the IB as examiner and exam author. She enjoys travel and has lived in six countries, loves to speak French and learn other languages, do outdoor exercise such as running and skiing, and take part in the arts. She sees writing (in many forms and languages) as a powerful tool that everyone should have access to.
