IT’S NOT A JOKE ANYMORE

Can a masked internet vigilante who foretells his real-life acts of vengeance before committing them rattle society into human decency, at long last? Finally available as a one-volume complete edition, Prophecy's stunning prescience only burns brighter since its first serialization in 2011.

Winner of the Japan Media Arts Festival Manga Excellence Prize and le Prix Asie de la Critique ACBD laureate Tetsuya Tsutsui has published hard-hitting comics since the dawn of our brave new century. Prophecy was adapted into a live-action theatrical feature as well as a TV drama.

PRAISE FOR THE ORIGINAL NORTH AMERICAN RELEASE

"Prophecy seems more relevant than ever now [...] A tough manga to put down, and it doesn'’t let up until the case is fully closed." —Otaku USA

"It’s the old vigilante conundrum brought into a very present day, and Prophecy really is hard to put down. […] It feels like a timely book, but more than that it’s a good one and one that keeps you thinking throughout." —Anime News Network

"Prophecy is a mature, chilling, and realistic series […] One of the strongest series to debut this year.—Manga Bookshelf

Tetsuya Tsutsui is unique within the Japanese manga world. While his print catalog goes as far back as 2002, he in many ways is a pioneer of Japan's long-form web-comic industry. While most web-comics in Japan tend to be daily comic strips, Tsutsui's background in serialized long-form comics, led him to continue working within that medium online.

In 2004, Tsutsui published his first manga in France, called Duds Hunt. This work was initially published online but then released for the first time in print by French publisher Hachette. Since then, Tsutsui has been working in Japan and in France creating works that appeal to a very global audience despite often being set in the Far East. Most of his works debut online now, where Tsutsui gets instant commentary from his large readership. And now his works are being recognized for transcending the limitations of language and markets.
