About the Author

Jorge Castañeda nació en la ciudad de México en 1953. Destacada figura del ámbito público mexicano, fue secretario de Relaciones Exteriores de México (2000-2003) y buscó convertirse en candidato independiente a la Presidencia de la República. Por más de 25 años ha sido profesor en la UNAM, y actualmente es catedrático en la Universidad de Nueva York. También es articulista de los diarios Reforma, El País y de la revista TIME; es miembro de la Junta de Gobierno de Human Rights Watch, de la American Academy of Arts and Science y de la American Philosophical Society.
