Classic Swamp Thing stories written and drawn by legendary comics creator Rick Veitch return to print for the first time in years!

Rick Veitch originally joined DC’s seminal Swamp Thing series as an artist during writer Alan Moore’s game-changing run, bringing to life some of the most inventive horror and fantasy concepts ever seen in mainstream comics.

Following Moore’s departure, Veitch took over as both writer and artist, continuing the revered creative legacy of Swamp Thing, and adding elements of time travel and metaphysics to one of the most unique comics of its era.

The Swamp Thing by Rick Veitch Book One brings these stories back to print, including Swamp Thing #65-73; Swamp Thing Annual #3; Hellblazer #4-5; and material from Secret Origins #23and Infinity, Inc. #4.

Rick Veitch was part of the the Joe Kubert School's first graduating class in 1978 and began his professional career in mainstream comics contributing short stories to DC's OUR ARMY AT WAR. Rick's work also appeared in Heavy Metal magazine and he contributed regularly to Marvel's Epic Magazine, which published his first collaboration with Alan Moore. Rick was highly active in the 1980's drawing issues of SWAMP THING for DC as well as issues of Nexus, Scout and Miracleman for other companies. He became regular penciller of SWAMP THING and collaborated for a year and a half with Alan Moore on a critically acclaimed run on the title before taking over as writer. In 1989, Veitch launched his own imprint, King Hell Press, which published BRAT PACK, THE MAXIMORTAL and RARE BIT FIENDS.  In 1993, Veitch again collaborated with the SWAMP THING team of Alan Moore, Steve Bissette and John Totleben on the Image comic series 1963. In the late 1990's Rick worked with again with Alan Moore on the launch of the AMERICA'S BEST COMICS line creating Greyshirt with Alan Moore. He also wrote and illustrated the critically acclaimed monthly series, ARMY@LOVE with Gary Erskine, and CAN'T GET NO from Vertigo.
