In the Weddell Sea the Endurance is trapped for months in pack ice and finds itself delivered up to an uncertain fate. An odyssey full of privations through the vastness of the south polar sea now begins for the 28 members of the expedition. Shackletons unwavering optimism holds them together, and they are driven on by cold, hunger and their hopes of being rescued.

About the Author

Mirko Bonné, geboren 1965 in Tegernsee, lebt in Hamburg. Er veröffentlichte Romane, Gedichtbände, Aufsätze und Reisejournale und übersetzte u. a. Sherwood Anderson, Emily Dickinson, John Keats, Grace Paley und William Butler Yeats. Für sein Werk wurde Mirko Bonné vielfach ausgezeichnet, zuletzt mit dem Rainer-Malkowski-Preis (2014). Sein Roman NIE MEHR NACHT stand 2013 auf der Shortlist zum Deutschen Buchpreis.
